Create simple but elegant slideshows in just a few minutes, optimised for everything from iPod to HDTV. You can create slideshows of selected images or albums, and even include both in the same slideshow if you wish.

Getting started
You can create slideshows in a number of ways:
-
By selecting Slideshow in the Project Set-up wizard
-
By clicking the ‘+’ icon on the Products button in the Event window
-
By right-clicking on a Collection or group button, again in the Event window
-
By right-clicking on the preview palette of the Tools window.
Designing your slideshow
Choosing and sorting images
In the Source box (top left in the graphic above) you can use your Group, Collection and Folder views to select images for your slideshow. Basing your slideshow on a Collection is the most satisfactory approach in most cases because it gives you the ability to change the display order of images in the show. (Do this in the Event window, not the Slideshow window.)
You can also click the disclosure triangle and select or de-select individual images if you wish.
If you want to add album layouts, you can select them in the same way.
Display and transition time
In the centre panel, top, you can choose the length of time each image will display, the transition you prefer and the transition time. Your transition settings will apply to each image in the show.
Music
You can choose one or more music files to play in the show. Note that you can set the total slideshow length to match the play time of the music you've chosen. Check the Fit Slideshow To Music box, then modify EITHER the image or transition time: as you do so, the other setting will change to maintain the required overall length.
Background and image border
You can set the background colour of the slideshow by clicking the Background Color swatch to bring up a colour picker.
If you prefer, check the Background Image box and browse to select a suitable image file. Make sure it suits the aspect ratio of the movie format you choose.
You can also add a border to the image, and change its colour and width in pixels.
Text
You can display filenames under the images on a coloured background ("label"). Check the "Show filenames..." box to enter text and set the label colour. You can also set the font size and colour.
Checking the Copyright Text box allows you to enter another line of text, and use the left/right andup/down percentage fields to display it whether you want on the slide.
Previewing your slideshow
You're now ready to preview your slideshow, although to get a better idea of how it will look, you should choose your "Movie Size" first, as this will change the aspect ratio (eg 4:3 or 16:9).
Simply click the Play button below the preview display at the top right of the window and the preview will commence, including transitions and music. The total show duration and number of slides are displayed below the preview.
Exporting your slideshow

Choose a Movie Size to suit the purpose of the movie (eg to send by email, or to play in high definition on a TV or computer). You can export the movie as often as you wish at different settings. The export time will depend on the number of images in the show, and the size you have selected.
Advanced export

-
You can use QuickTime's advanced set-up dialogue instead of Photojunction's pre-sets if you prefer.
-
If you have QuickTime Pro you may be able to reduce file size by re-exporting the movie after you have finished in Photojunction. |
